CRICKET: StarTimes acquire Pakistan Cricket League rights

StarTimes Media has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the Pakistan Super League for the 2017 and 2018 season.

Kenyan cricket fans will benefit from the deal after the digital TV content provider secured the rights for the whole of sub-Saharan Africa.

The PSL is a franchise of the Twenty20 cricket league. It was established by the Pakistan Cricket Board in 2016. “We are delighted to include the Pakistan Super League to our sports offering.

Star Times will broadcast the league starting tomorrow, February 9, to March 5, with the number of matches having been increased in the new season from 16 to 18,” said StarTimes Vice President Mark Lisboa.

 This year’s PSL will feature an A-list of players including former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, West Indian stars Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo, Australia’s Shane Watson, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and England’s Twenty20 captain Eoin Morgan. Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen will also take part.
