New Brunswick, Canada:  Eyewitnesses in the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia reported hearing a loud noise and a blinding light in the sky.

This is the breathtaking moment a giant fireball soared through the earth's atmosphere.

Spectacular footage was caught on a webcam when the bright meteor illuminated the Canadian skyline at around 5am local time on Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses in the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia reported hearing a loud noise and a blinding light in the sky.

From one angle a huge sphere can be seen falling from the heavens and in another frame, a whole street is illuminated by a zipping bright flash.

Experts told CBC News they believe the fireball was a chunk of rock from space that was burning up in the Earth's atmosphere.
