People living with disabilities in the Northern region have appealed to President William Ruto to give them a chance in his administration.

Speaking in Mandera town during a PWDs meeting, Hafid Ibrahim, chairman of PWDs in Northern Kenya said as things stand they feel left out.

According to him, fair representation in the Kenya Kwanza government would go a long way in addressing the challenges they are facing.

"It is an open secret that PWDs in this country are a disadvantaged lot on many fronts including job opportunities, education, and even access to loans from government institutions. The situation is even worse for those living in ASAL areas," he said.

According to him, those living with disabilities are well-positioned to contribute to nation-building and the actualization of the Kenya Kwanza vision, a decision the president should consider.

Among the areas they are seeking representation is the affordable housing plan in which he says PWDs should not be left out.

"Affordable housing is the game changer in the country and PWDs should not be left out. President William Ruto should pay close attention to the cries of the people with special needs."
