Nyamira County Government has promoted and redesignated all its doctors.

This follows a bargaining agreement signed with the Doctors Union in October last year.

Before the promotions, KMPDU and the County Government had been involved in negotiations culminating in an agreement.

Doctors in the County will be placed in Job Group P up from N.

The County Public Service Board has also confirmed six Doctors that have been on probation while two doctors have been working on Job Group M to N.

The agreement had been signed by the Union's Nyanza Secretary General Dr Aggrey Orwenyo, County Secretary Dr. Jack Magara, Board Chair Dr. Peter Kereri, Chief Officer Medical Service Andrew Ongere says no Doctor will be victimized for having participated in the industrial action.

In a press statement issued by Dr Orwenyo yesterday afternoon, KMPDU said it was the perfect time to show appreciation to the Nyamira County Government and Governor Amos Nyaribo.

"It has been a long journey; it is a good gesture of honoring the RTWF we entered into late last year in promoting and redesignating all our members serving in the County Government of Nyamira."

He said; "We thank them for the motivation and recognition of the value our members are making in the betterment of the health status of the Nyamira Citizens."
