Kilifi South MP Ken Chonga and Kilifi County Speaker Teddy Mwambire will spend the weekend in police cells.
Magistrate Martha Mutuku deferred their bail application ruling to Monday ordering that Chonga, Mwambire and two others be detained at Port Police Station.
The two were charged alongside Victor Katana and Patrick Chiro Charo.
This is despite the lawyers representing them assuring the court that they will appear on Monday if granted bail.
Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir also pledged to produce them to court on Monday if they were to be granted bail.
