A middle-aged woman has allegedly killed her two children at Saina village in Kajiado County.

It is suspected the woman set the house she was sharing with the children on fire after a disagreement with her husband.

The marital issues apparently came up after it emerged her husband was having an affair which led to the woman putting their iron-structured house on fire.

Neighbours' attention was drawn to the house by the fire and they managed to rescue the woman before battling the inferno for hours.

After they put out the fire that is when they discovered the bodies of the two children aged two and eight, burnt beyond recognition.

Kajiado police boss Daudi Lolonyokwe who confirmed the incident told the Standard on the phone, that the mother was also injured and was rushed to the Kajiado Referral Hospital where she was admitted.

The bodies of her children were taken to the facility's morgue awaiting post-mortem.

"Our preliminary investigations show that the woman had a motive to kill the children after pelting ways with her husband, however, we will wait for her to recover so that she can be arraigned before a court of the law," said the police boss.
