APS Bomet FC beat Mara Sugar FC 1-0 today at Bomet IAAF Stadium to bag the 2021/2022 National Super League title and consequently secure an automatic promotion to the FKF Premier League.

The Administration Police officers can also afford a smile after earning an automatic promotion to Kenya Premier League slot.

Second-placed Fortune Sacco suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Migori Youth thus handing the Administration Police an automatic promotion ticket to the Premier league with two games to spare.

Eric Juma scored the all important goal for APS 20 minutes into the second half. Juma took advantage of a defensive lapse to power home a superb shot in the match watched by hundreds of fans.

APS head Coach Charles Odera hailed the performance by his charges saying they showed a brilliant game despite the spirited fight by the opponent.

Odera said the promotion was deserved saying it has taken them hard work and discipline in the pitch.
“We have worked hard and the promotion that we are going to get has also come because of the discipline from players and their effort,” Odera told Standard Sports.

The win saw APS take their points tally to 68 points, eight ahead of second-placed Fortune Sacco who can only amass a total of 66 points if they win their remaining two matches.

Muhoroni Youth who are in the race for promotion boosted their chances with a 2-1 win against Naivas at Nairob's Camp Toyoyo grounds.

The hosts took an early lead through Brian Ouru in the first half and the visitors had to wait until the dying moments of the match to secure an equaliser.

Murang'a Seals who are also in the race for the second automatic promotion slot face Mombasa Elites at Serenani grounds in Mombasa tomorrow.
