Kabaddi: Kenya win silver in Bangladesh

Kenya played second fiddle to host Bangladesh in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi tournament. 

Bangladesh remained unbeaten in all their five matches to clinch the trophy and retain it for two straight years.

Kenyan side lost narrowly 31-34 to the defending champions in the final game that was staged at Mirpur Indoor Stadium on Thursday evening. 

The winners dominated the first half with a 17-14 points with one Lona which Kenyans maintained to retain the narrow gap in the second half.

Bangladesh stormed into the finals after beating Sri Lanka 49-29 in the first semi-final that was played on Wednesday. 

Kenya on its part qualified for the finals after defeating Nepal 65-19. Kenya had earlier won all its group matches against Indonesia 64-20 and Iraq 54-29.

This is the second time Kenya has played the hosts in the tournament and finished second. The eight-nation event was the second edition. 

Kenya was using the tournament in preparation for the World Cup set for December in Dubai.
