Community Heroes: Football stars winning people's hearts through charity projects

Senegal and Liverpool star winger, Sadio Mane, has been the latest football star to unveil a community project in his motherland, Senegal.
According to photos doing rounds on the internet, the 27-year-old Senegalese could be seen visiting and inspecting a school being constructed in his homeplace, Bambali.
This comes few weeks after the star guided his national football team to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals where his side lost 1-0 to Algeria.
Mane has touched the hearts of his countrymen through his projects as he also built a hospital and mosque for his community.

Many footballers have given back to the community in recent years.
Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba opened a fully furnished school for Ivorian village Onahio Pokou-Kouamekro in 2018.

The legend who also runs the Didier Drogba Foundation ensured that over 350 children had access to education in the rural cocoa growing community by opening the facility.
The Drogba Foundation aims at helping children live healthier lives and helping develop thriving resilient communities.
Kenya and Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama in 2018 initiated the Wanyama Royal Charity Cup tournament that aims at building young talents and sensitizing the youth on the importance of investing into a healthy lifestyle.
The midfielder who is currently on an extended break by Spurs attended the tournament recently with Deputy President William Ruto among top government officials who attended the tourney.
