Arsenal star Mesut Ozil recently stunned Arsenal fans when photos of him with a blonde hairstyle hit the internet.

There has been significant speculation about the former German international leaving the Gunners this summer, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reportedly hot on his tail but this extinguished the speculations.

Fans were shocked to see their number 10 with a blonde hairstyle on Tuesday despite having normal hair on Monday night when he made a cameo during Arsenal’s friendly match against Colorado Rapids.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took to social media to troll his teammate for the move comparing him to the USA Women’s World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe.

However, Arsenal faithful can now rest after the German revealed the real reason why he dyed his hair blonde.

In a video posted on Instagram by Sports Direct Football, Ozil says he, Kolasinac and Mustafi lost a bet against Alexandre Lacazette.

‘I lost a bet. Or we lost a bet against Laca, crossbar challenge yeah. Me, Sead [Kolasinac] and Shkodran Mustafi so we lost altogether.’ he told Sports Direct Football.

Ozil guided Arsenal to a 2-1 International Champions Cup victory over rivals Bayern Munich on Thursday morning.

Louis Poznanski’s own goal opened the scoring for Arsenal before Bayers equalized after 71 minutes. Arsenal got the 85th-minute winner as Tyreece John-Jules’s low cross was turned in by Nketiah.

The Gunners will face Serie A side Fiorentina and Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid before returning home to face Olympique Lyon.
