Liverpool superstar ="https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/mohamed-salah">Mo Salah< could be staring down the barrel of a three-match ban.

The Egyptain appeared to aim a punch at Stoke's Bruno Martins-Indi during ="https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fc">the Reds'< 0-0 draw against the Potters on Saturday lunchtime.

Footage shows Salah lashing out with his left arm after being challenged by Martins-Indi during the goalless stalemate at Anfield.

The incident was not spotted by match officials at the time, and he could be slapped with a three-match ban should the FA decide to take retrospective action.

If he is suspended, it could open the door for Harry Kane to steal a march in the race for the golden boot.

Tottenham striker Kane trails Salah by five goals, but Spurs have four Premier League games remaining starting with this evening's clash against Watford at Wembley.

Kane came under fire for claiming a goal at Stoke initially awarded to Christian Eriksen, saying the ball brushed him on the way through, with the dubious goals panel eventually giving him the strike.

Salah sits on 31 Premier League goals but has 12 more in all competitions, while Kane has struck 26 times in the top flight so far this term.

Recently, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso was handed three match ban for what was judged to have been a violent tackle on Southampton star Shane Long during Chelsea-Southampton premier league match.

The Spaniard was not sent off during Antonio Conte's 3-2 victory of the Saints but a review by the FA found him guilty. The Egyptian could miss the remaining three premier leagu games if found guilty of the offense.
