George 'Blackberry' wins SJAK August Award

Gor Mahia’s George Odhiambo popularly known as 'Blackberry' has been named SportPesa Premier League Player for August.

In a poll carried out by Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) football committee, the Kenya Premier League’s 2009 Most Promising Player award winner got 18 votes, one more than mate Jacques Tuyisenge.

Batoto Ba Mungu’s attacker Umaru Kasumba who got 14 votes was third.

Odhiambo, who has four goals under his belt this season has been vital in facilitating Dylan Kerr’s side earn 2017 KPL crown for a record 16th time.

The Gor Mahia player was awarded Sh100 000, a 49-inch LG TV and, a trophy on a chilly Wednesday morning at Parklands Sports Club grounds.
