Co-op Bank were victorious against Equity, winning 83-73, at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday evening.

Once again, Kevin Kigotho starred for Co-op with 18 points in a Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s Premier League match. Job Byron added 16, while Ian Wachie and Felix Omondi had 12 points each for Equity.

Equity won the first quarter 24-20 and the second 16-14 just before halftime.

The initial fire in Equity subsided on resumption of the third quarter. Co-op Bank took advantage of this complacency to win 25-17 and 24-16.

After losing to Blades last weekend, Kenya College of Accountancy University (KCA-U) retreated to put their house in order.

This finally paid off after they won 73-60 against Nairobi City Thunder. KCA-U were in a class of their own, registering 21-6, 7-12, 31-19, 14-23 in the four quarters. Felix Omondi scored 27 points for the students, while his teammate, David Omondi, added 20. The ever-green captain Griffins Ligare was good for 21 points for Thunder as Ken Maru added 15.

At Makande gymnasium in Mombasa, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) sides defeated Strathmore University 63-44 (women) and 58-45 (men) in the one-sided encounters.

“We are impressed with our current form. Many teams will find it difficult to challenge us as we have vowed not to drop points,” said KPA women head coach Anthony Ojukwu.
