Sunshine Tour comes to Kenya for 2018 KCB Karen Masters

Nairobi’s Karen Country Club will host the Sunshine Tour where KCB Karen Masters will be played from 19 – 22 July 2018.

The title sponsor of the $150,000(approx.. Ksh 18.5m) tournament is Kenya Commercial Bank, and that partnership substantially expands the Sunshine Tour’s reach into sub-Saharan Africa.

Sunshine Tour Executive Director Selwyn Nathan said is happy with the partnership. “We are really pleased that a partnership with Kenya Commercial Bank has given us this opportunity to expand the Sunshine Tour into fresh territory,”.

KCB Marketing and Communication Director Angela Mwirigi emphasized the importance of the event in Kenyan sports circles by saying, “ The KCB Karen Masters remains our most visible vehicle to share the

Starting off as a white-only tournament in the early 1970’s, it has broadened its appeal over the years with the first African partaking in 1991.

The Sunshine Tour is one of the six leading men’s tour in the world based largely involving countries from south African region.

Karen Country Club has one of the finest golf courses in sub-Saharan Africa. The club has come a long way from the small, flat greens, to slightly larger greens to cope with higher everyday usage.

The course is maintained par 72 for men, and a challenging 6,341 meters (6,934 yards) in length from the championship tees.
