Ezekiel Kemboi has suspended plans to retire from athletics until he brings a final medal to Kenya. The veteran athlete was disqualified from the 3,000m steeplechase for stepping off the track.

The bronze medal he earned was subsequently handed to Frenchman Mahiedine Mekhissi who was in fourth position.

"I had opted to retire right after the Olympics only if I had come home with this medal. Now I feel that I have to bring back this medal not by protesting again, but right on track. Kemboi is not retired. I will be coming to London in 2017 to reclaim my medal from France. No limits," Kemboi indicated on Facebook.
