Kenyan International handball player Brian Oduor voted the Most Valuable Player the season in Denmark

Kenyan International handball player Brian Oduor who plays for Denmark's third division side Astrup Hammelev Grenaa was voted the Most Valuable Player the season as the season ended over the weekend.
Odour's side finished third in the table standing and will be subject to playoffs set for next week as they seek for the promotion slot to the second division.
"I thank God for this award. The season has been tough especially when I lost my aunt. The situation really affected my performance as we kicked off the season but God has been at my side. My team mates and coaches have also been instrumental and I appreciate their efforts," he said.
This is Oduor's second season at Astrup following his exit from second division side Stoholm in the end of 2014season.
"We are hoping to play in the second division next season. We are currently preparing for the playoffs. The matches will be tough because the season has been tough with the first three teams separated by goal difference," he said.
Last year, the 27 year-old was nominated for the sixth edition of the annual Sports Personality of the year in the Celebrate Africa DK Awards where he finished as the first runner's up behind South Africa's footballer Lebobang Phiri who plays for Brondby IF.
Oduor also featured for the national team that took part in the All African Games in Egypt in January where Kenya lost all their matches.
"Kenya has a potential if only we play competitive friendly matches in the continent. There is also need for good structures for the sport to grow and also a competitive league will be an added advantage when it comes to the national team selection," he said.
Odour and Ywaya Cajitan another international who turns for second division side Kiffen handball club will organize clinics during the August holiday at Nyayo National Stadium in partnership with the old guards to improve the sport.
"We will also get international players from Finland, Sweden and Denmark to conduct the clinics. This will be a great opportunity for handball in the country because players will get first-hand experience from the international players," he said.
Meanwhile, Mombasa County will be host to the international beach handball course set from 18-23 this Month at Beachhote hotel.
