FOOTBALL: All set for SportPesa Super 8 final

SportPesa Super 8 Fans during the final of the last Super 8 tournament.

All is set for the grand finale of the ninth SportPesa Super 8 Football tournament at the Nyayo National Stadium tomorrow.

The event kicked off on April 4 with 101 clubs from all eight regions of Nairobi registering and participating right from the preliminaries.
Kiambiu Youth Fc from Kamukunji will take on Technical University of Nairobi (TUK fc) from Starehe at 3pm for the coveted Super 8 Championship. Makongeni Sports Association (MASA Fc) from Makadara will face Kawangware United Fc from Dagoretti for third place playoffs at 12 Noon.
The day shall also see a curtain raiser from the girls at 11 am when East Gazelles take on West Divas in an All Stars women affair. Plenty of entertainment has been planned. Among the Kenyan stars performing are Nonini, Wyre, Marya, Bigpin, K-Letta, Frasha, Gabu, DJ Nijo, Kriss Darlin, DJ Pierra, Trapee and many more.

The Super 8 Soccer Tournament is a product of Extreme Sports. The tournament concept pits the champions from the East and West of Nairobi and the official slogan is "Wakilisha Mtaa Yako!"
A total cash prize of Sh1.43 million is shared among the top 32 teams with the overall winner taking home Sh500,000, first runner-up Sh250,000 and third place getting Sh100,000. Regional champions are guaranteed Sh60,000 each. All 102 participating teams were fully kitted and given footballs.
