Impala RFC are looking forward to their ‘break’ as they play Mombasa RFC in the Kenya Cup today. Speaking to FeverPitch, Impala head coach Eric Situma claimed he had respect for all teams, but given their previous games, Mombasa is likely to be an easier fixture. Impala have lost heavily to Strathmore, Kenya Commercial Bank and Kabras Sugar in their previous three games and they are hoping they can turn the tide against Mombasa. “I know every team in Kenya Cup can upset others, but we hope given Mombasa’s previous run, we can plan better and win,” he said.

Kenya captain Rakep Patel is confident as the team takes on hosts Namibia in the opening match of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 2 today.
Speaking to the ICC media, Patel said: “I think we fancy ourselves to do well in the tournament and in the opening match. If we click as a unit I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t do well, there are fantastic individuals in our team and we just have to work together as a group.
We don’t want to look too far ahead, we just have to concentrate on one game at a time and do the basics well.”
