Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo admits he considered returning to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

Ronaldo, the newly crowned Ballon d’Or winner, was strongly linked with a move back to Old Trafford amid contract talks with Madrid.

And after Rio Ferdinand revealed that he spoke to the player about a United return, Ronaldo admits he was tempted to go back to United.

"It was true that Rio Ferdinand spoke to me a lot to try and make me come back to United," he said afterwards.
