A 42-year-old Chinese national in whose house police recovered weapons has been handed over to anti-terror police.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) together with officers from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) on Wednesday raided the man's house in Lavington, Nairobi, where they recovered 700 bullets and five guns.
The police said the raid followed the arrest of the man on Friday in Kitui while he was on his way to Garissa on an unexplained mission. The suspect was armed when he was stopped at a roadblock and held after he failed to produce a gun licence.
Kitui DCI boss Kobina Cheserek said investigators had searched two other houses in Nairobi's Muthaiga estate but did not find any weapons.
