Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina has recorded a statement at the DCI headquarters in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County over Tuesday's chaos that saw her admitted to the hospital for two days.

Maina who was accompanied by her lawyer, Rarienda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo arrived in a wheelchair as she is said to have sustained injuries that hinder her mobility.

Currently, a heavy police presence has been witnessed in Kerogoya as a number of her supporters have come out to express their support.

Maina was among several people who were injured after her supporters and those of Governor Anne Waiguru clashed at the Kirinyaga Police Station on Tuesday, August 22.

She allegedly sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the Kirinyaga County Referral Hospital before being transferred to the Nairobi Hospital for specialized care.
