Police have launched a manhunt for a man who shocked residents of Kamatungu in Tharaka Nithi County after he sealed his wife's genitals over alleged infidelity.
The suspect reportedly committed the crime and fled on Saturday night.
Tharaka South Police Commander Kiprop Rutto said the suspect sexually assaulted the woman by applying pepper, salt and onion in her private parts using a sharp knife before applying super glue mixed with sand.
He also applied the same mixture on her ears.
Mr Rutto said the woman had reportedly returned home from Nairobi and the husband advised that they had to move away from home to avoid arrest since she had come from a county that has been locked down following Covid-19 pandemic.

It is not clear why the woman was in Nairobi while her husband was at home.
"On reaching Kathita river, the suspect threatened to kill the woman and forced her to undress," said Mr Rutto.
After heeding to the orders, the commander added, the suspect beat up the woman and ordered her to name all the men she had slept with while in Nairobi.
It is after this that she sexually assaulted her and fled leaving her in critical condition.
The woman however managed to walk to Marimanti Police Station where she reported the matter after which she was rushed to Marimanti Level Four Hospital where she is receiving treatment.
"We have launched a serious search for the suspect who is a known criminal in the area.
“He is also linked to other crimes including theft," said Mr Rutto.
He added that the suspect will be charged for sexually assault once arrested.
Consequently, the irate residents who are baying for the suspect's blood have called on police to do everything at their disposal to ensure the suspect faces the full force of the law and justice for the victim served.
