Miraa vendor Godfrey Karithi is now Sh1.1 million richer after correctly predicting the outcome of 15 out of 17 matches in SportPesa's latest Mega jackpot.

24-year-old Karithi was among three lucky winners including Paul Gicheha and Weldon Kibet, who also received hearty amounts after correctly predicting the outcome of 15 out of 17 matches.

An elated Karithi explained how he would have won the whole amount had he changed his initial predictions for two matches.

"When the Mega Jackpot games were all over, I looked at my bet slip and realized that had I not changed my initial prediction for the Fiorentina and the Frankfurt matches, I would have gone home with the entire jackpot amount," said Karithi.

Karithi plans to expand his miraa business in Meru County and has vowed to keep on with betting - the full Megajackpot amount firmly in his sights.

"I thank God for the money I have won and I plan to expand my miraa business and this will, in turn, provide more income for me and my family. That Mega jackpot is still there and available so I cannot stop trying. If I can come that close, who knows, I could end up winning the entire amount," Kareithi told the press.

Gordon Ogada remains the highest SportPesa Megajackpot football jackpot winner after he won a whopping Sh230,615,594 in 2018.

Months later, Cosmas Korir bagged Sh208,733,619 after he correctly predicted 17 games.

In May 2017, Samuel Abisai won Sh221 SportPesa by correctly predicting the outcome of 17 games - making him the first Kenyan to win such an amount in betting.
