Elections in Nakuru aborted as Anthony 'Jamal' Ombok was re-elected Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) Kisumu branch chairman yesterday.

The branch elections in Nakuru could not continue as competing candidates could not agree on the list of delegates who were supposed to vote in the polls.

"We cannot allow non compliant clubs to vote in these elections. Since when did we have over 30 clubs in Nakuru," asked Sombea Boxing Club chairman Martin Luther who wanted to be elected the branch chairman.

Luther, who was set to take on incumbent chairman Isaac Mbote for the top seat in the branch elections said Nakuru was only able to produce a maximum of 13 clubs eligible to vote in the polls but not more.

"We cannot allow fake clubs to vote in credible elections when we know the number of all clubs and their officials in this county," said Luther.

In Kisumu, Anthony 'Jamal' Ombok who's the BFK President retained his seat as the branch chairman after being elected unopposed. Dr Sammy Mahugu was elected the Nairobi County Boxing Association chairman and will be deputised by Jane Wariko and John Kimotho the second vice chairman. Musa Benjamin retained the first Secretary General post and will be deputised by Ronald Khainga.

Others officials elected are treasurer Ceciliah Wairimu.
