Three Kenyan boxers have qualified for the finals of the ongoing Africa Boxing Championships in Maputo, Mozambique.

The triple is Africa Zone Three light heavyweight gold medalist Elizabeth Andiego, featherweight debutante Samuel Njau and Africa lightweight champion Nick Okoth who all won their matches on a Referee Stop the Contest (RSC) rule to save opponents from further punishment.

Andiego who was forced to play in the heavyweight at the continental championships overwhelmed Mkateko Sithole of South Africa in the same round.

She'll face Mardi Khadija of Morocco in the finals on Saturday.

On his part, Njau made a formidable start in the continental championships after he defeated Ben Banda of Zambia in the featherweight.

Africa lightweight champion Nick Okoth unanimously defeated Walid Tazout of Algeria on points.

By reaching the finals, the duo is assured of cash prizes whether they win their bouts or not.

Gold winners will pocket USD 10,000(Sh 1million), silver medalists USD 5000(Sh 500,000) and bronze medalists USD 2,500 (Sh 250,000).
