Female boxer Conjestina Achieng’, once the pride of Kenya in the boxing field is ailing, having taken too many blows to her head and lives in poverty.

Conjestina, 40, was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder/paranoid schizophrenia and was admitted at Mathari Hospital in 2012, after she drifted into a psychotic episode.

Lately, the beloved daughter of Siaya and country at large, has not been on the limelight for obvious reasons.

In several occasions, well-wishers have come to her rescue due to her failing state of health.

According to a video that has surfaced online, things are not going well for the boxer who lifted the Kenyan flag many times.

In the video that has gone viral, her mother appears to be giving an account of what has been going on with the fighter who participated in 27 fights, winning 17, losing four times, and drawing in six occasions.

The rather emotional clip narrates how Conjestina has ruined her things, including some of the belts that she won during her various fights- cutting them into pieces.

Her mother urges the government/Kenyans to offer unrelenting love and support to local athletes during their latter part of their inactive career, instead of neglecting them.

Recently, we had great Kenyan footballers specifically, the legendary Joe Kandenge and Peter Dawo pleading for funds to offload their medical bills.
