The Nyanza Region Secondary Term One games culminated in a spectacle of talent and determination as Siaya County's Ng'iya Girls National School and Agoro Sare High School from Homa Bay emerged as the basketball champions in the girls' and boys' categories respectively.

Ng'iya Girls National School wrote a new chapter in their sporting history by clinching the girls' basketball title, overcoming a tough challenge from Nyakach Girls from Kisumu County in a thrilling encounter that ended 44-41.

This victory marked the end of Ototo Mixed Secondary School's reign as defending champions, who finished a distant fourth in the competition.

Speaking on the team's triumph, head coach Naftali Ambala commended his team for their hard work and dedication.

"I am incredibly proud of the girls for their performance throughout the tournament. This victory is a testament to their resilience and determination."

Ng'iya Girls captain Tracy Sally echoed her coach's sentiments, expressing her joy and gratitude for the team's success.

In the boys' basketball category, Agoro Sare High School showcased their prowess by defeating Maseno School 51-44 in a fiercely contested final.

This victory secured Agoro Sare the coveted title of Nyanza champions, with Maseno School knocking out defending champions Onjiko High School in the semifinals.
