In a highly anticipated rematch of the FIBA Africa Zone 5 AWBL Qualifiers final, KPA (Kenya Ports Authority) and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are set to clash in the semi-finals of the Africa Women's Basketball League (AWBL).

KPA emerged victorious in their previous encounter, defeating REG with a commanding score of 87-55.

Now, these two basketball powerhouses are gearing up for another showdown in the AWBL semi-finals, and the stakes are higher than ever.

REG has been in exceptional form, with their recent victory over Universite de Douala securing their spot in the semi-finals.

Coach Esperance Mukaneza's team displayed remarkable teamwork and dominance on the court, winning by a convincing margin of 85-54. This victory propelled them to the Last Four of the AWBL, marking their debut in African competitions.

On the other hand, KPA's journey to the semi-finals featured a standout performance by teenage sensation Madina Okot.

Despite doubts stemming from an injury scare in their final group match, Okot led KPA to an impressive 81-66 victory over Equity Bank. Her remarkable 31-point performance, coupled with 17 rebounds and 4 blocks, solidified her status as a rising star in the championship.

The stage is now set for a thrilling semi-final clash between KPA and REG. KPA, with their history of success in the tournament, will look to repeat their previous victory over REG.

However, REG, fueled by their recent successes and newfound confidence, will aim to turn the tables and secure a spot in the AWBL final.

The key players to watch will undoubtedly be Madina Okot for KPA and the collective strength of REG. The outcome of this highly anticipated match will determine which team advances to the AWBL final and takes a step closer to championship glory.
