Kenya's Natalie Mwangale emerged as a standout performer for her team, delivering sensational heroics that not only secured Kenya the gold medal but also earned her the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup held in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.

Throughout the tournament, Mwangale showcased extraordinary skills, culminating in a remarkable 23-point display.

Her exceptional performance reached its zenith with a breathtaking buzzer-beating shot that upset the home side, Egypt in the final.

Mwangale's dominance, both offensively and defensively, transformed Kenya into a clinical force on the court.

In the highly anticipated final, Kenya shocked the world by facing off against the home team, Egypt.

With both teams remaining undefeated on their journey to the final, Egypt initially enjoyed an advantage during most of the game.

However, just steps away from securing victory with a 19-13 lead, Egypt witnessed the gold medal slip away as Kenya orchestrated a remarkable comeback.

Natalie Mwangale, who had been a colossal presence throughout the tournament, called the game with a monumental buzzer-beating shot, sealing the improbable win for Kenya.

Meanwhile, Madina Okot emerged as the undeniable star of the game, delivering an impressive 11-point, 18-rebound performance.

Mwangale's outstanding contributions made her the shining light for Kenya throughout the tournament, elevating the team into a clinical force.

This show led her to clinch the MVP award and she also led the Team of the Tournament. Egypt's Raneem Mohamed, who accumulated 23 points and delivered a fantastic all-around performance, and Harisoa Hajanirina (Madagascar), leading her team to Bronze with a 20-point tournament in Cairo, were notable members of the esteemed Team of the Tournament.

In the men's category, Egypt concluded a flawless run in the competition with a powerful 18 - 15 victory over Nigeria.

The 3x3 format, known for its excitement, urban appeal, and innovation, draws inspiration from various forms of streetball played worldwide.

It is considered the most thrilling urban sport and, guided by FIBA, features games where two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court. Notably, 3x3 made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
