Last season's playoffs semifinalists Equity Dumas moved to within three points off defending champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) after seeing off visiting Lakeside from Kisumu 83-57 in a Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's Premier League match at Nyayo on Saturday.

The bankers headed into the match placed fourth on 14 points and victory saw them move joint third on 16 points same as former champions Ulinzi Warriors.

The hosts led the first quarter 16-13 before taking the second quarter 26-22 for a 42-35 halftime lead.

Lakers would still make it a tight game with another 13-12 third-quarter play before Equity won the game in the fourth after a blowout 28-10 for an 83-57 win.

The bankers can move second in the log and one point behind defending champions and league leaders KPA who will not be in action this weekend if they defeat Eldonets Platinum ON Sunday.

Equity have played nine matches where they have won seven and lost two.

At the same grounds, Thunder thrashed Eldonets Platinum 89-66.

The win saw the Nairobi City club move second on 17 points, two points behind KPA after leapfrogging Ulinzi Warriors (16) who will play on Sunday.

Thunder led with appointment after the first quarter which ended 15-14 before the visitors ensured the match went to the break tied at 39-39 after taking the second quarter 25-24.

The host would respond much more aggressively in the final half with big 30-12 and 20-15 wins to win 89-66.

Thunder will face KU Pirates today.
