Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men’s team on Sunday tied the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Premier League semifinals playoffs at 2-2 after defeating Equity Dumas 75-56 in game four played at KPA Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa.

The dockers ducked elimination by defeating Equity Bank Dumas 81-66 in a closely contested Game three on Saturday.

KPA’s chances of advancing to this year’s finals hung in the balance after their poor start to the series

The Coast based club headed into game three of the semifinals trailing 2-0 after the bankers had knocked them out in game one and two 78-66 and 64-54 respectively.

Their victory in game four yesterday puts the match back live as the two will have to battle to determine who will join Ulinzi Warriors in the finals.

On Sunday, KPA started the match well after taking first quarter 23-19 before ensuring a 13-point lead at the break after a 19-10 second quarter performance saw them lead 42-29 at the break.

Sammy Kiki’s charges finished off the game in the third and final quarter topping 18-16 and 15-11 respectively to win 75-56.

Equity will now host KPA back in Nairobi in game five to determine who sails through to the finals.
