Kevin Durant was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) after scoring 31 points, guiding Team Lebron to an epic 178-164 win over Team Giannis in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game played on Sunday, February 17.

Fans were treated to the NBA's brightest stars showcasing their talents, with Team Giannis skipper Giannis Anteokounmpo top scoring with a remarkable 38 points.

The Greek international was unable to get the better of LeBron James' fearsome squad though, as Durant top scored for the eventual winners.

Lebron James added 19 points, the same amount as teammate Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors, and one fewer than Klay Thompson.

It was Thompson and Damian Lillard who shot Team LeBron back into the match in the third quarter after they had been a huge 18 points behind.

The two teams took a remarkable 168 three-point shots between them.

The match was just the second time that the All-Star Game format didn't pit East against West, with starters chosen through a voting process involving fans, media and the players themselves.
