Basketball: Lady Bucks move out of the bottom as KPA teams remain top

Lady Bucks Basketball Club from Kisumu moved out of the bottom of the 2022 Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Women's Premier League after registering their first win of the season last weekend.

The Dave Michael-coached outfit saw off visiting Kenyatta University Oryx 56-41 at Magadi Primary School in Manyatta, Kisumu to move to 11th in the log with five points.

The university students on the other hand slipped to bottom on four points. The newbies have won one match and lost two of their three opening games of the season.

Lady Bucks have played our matches only in the 2022 season, five matches less than defending champions and league leaders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) have played. KPA lead the log with 18 points after winning all their nine matches.

Zetech Sparks are second on 13 points after seven matches followed by former champions Equity Hawks with 12 points.

In the men's league, Kenyatta University Pirates remained bottom of the table despite their 60-58 win over Lakeside.

Pirates have four points after winning two and losing two matches of their four played. Lakeside, despite losing all their eight matches are second last with eight points. KPA men basketball side lead the log with 19 points after winning nine of the 10 matches played.
