For record-breaking Beatrice Chebet, there's nothing for fulfilling than winning gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

To her, it would be a perfect reward. Granted, she's been hogging the limelight lately especially after setting a world record in women's 10,000m at the Prefontaine Classic, but she's yearning for more.

She was named on Thursday in the 10,000m team to the Olympics alongside Lillian Kasait and Margaret Chelimo while the men team consists of Daniel Mateiko, Nicholas Kimeli and Bernard Kibet.

The team was named after 10,000m trials which were held at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last month.

Chebet is dreaming big and prays for a perfect moment and to the 24-year-old, this weekend marks journey towards the uncharted waters.

"I don't have a track gold medal from any senior championships. I pray that in Paris, this will be possible. Probably, I'm going to run in both 5000m and 10,000m," said Chebet.

"God willing, I want to go and win a gold medal because in any global event, but I know that anything can happen. I know that I'll not disappoint you guys."

Chebet was speaking as she received an award after she was named the LG/SJAK Sports Personality of the Month for May.

Chebet made history as the first ever woman to run 10,000m under 29 minutes as she clocked 28:54.14.

Her nomination as the May personality also entered her name in the annals of the award's history as one of the few athletes to win the title three times.
