Moraa sails to 800m semis at Commonwealth Games

Kenya's Mary Moraa on Wednesday won the Commonwealth Games 2022 800m women's Heat 1 to qualify for the semifinals.

Moraa, 22, led the race from the start and managed to finish first with a time of 1.59.23.

Uganda's Halimah Nakaayi also sailed through after finishing second with a time of 1.59.35

Jamaica's Natoya Goule was the fastest qualifier for the women's 800m final in Birmingham, winning the second heat in 1:58.39 ahead of Scotland's middle-distance star Laura Muir in 1:58.84.

England's Keely Hodgkinson took the last heat in 2:00.18.
