Stars legends set for two friendly ties in Mombasa

Mike Okoth, father to Liverpool’s striker Divock Origi and former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno will this weekend lead a strong team of former Kenyan internationals in two friendly matches in Mombasa.

The former Harambee Stars footballers will be at Bomani playground in Likoni this afternoon from 3:30pm to play Kwale combined side before they curtain raise the Football Kenya Federation Premier League match between Bandari and Gor Mahia tomorrow at Mbaraki Sports Club. The curtain raiser kicks off at 12.30pm.

The Okoth-led team recently toured Uganda where they played former Ugandan internationals and the team is expected to play more friendly matches in Tanzania.  

The cross-border friendly matches are aimed at strengthening ties between the countries.

Former Kenya Football Federation Vice President Twaha Mbarak who is hosting the legends says time has come for the former national team players to get proper recognition in the country having served under difficult conditions in the previous regimes.
