Although Kenya did not win gold in the men's 3,000m contest at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships on Saturday, Felix Korir won hearts online after giving his jersey to a Colombian boy who was sitting in the stands.

Ethiopia's Melkeneh Aziz won the gold medal in the race with Kenya's Felix Korir and Edwin Kimosong settling for silver and bronze medals, setting new personal bests times of 7:47.86 and 7:49.82 respectively.

After the race Korir was met with a boy holding a placard written in Swahili- begging for his Kenyan jersey.

Translated from his Spanish language to Kiswahili using modern technology, the boy wrote on the placard that; 'Habari, mimi ni mwanariadha na ningejivunia kuvaa shati ya Kenya katika mbio zangu, ungenipa?' (Hello, I am an athlete and would be honoured to wear a Kenyan jersey during my races, are you willing to give me one?).
