The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed marathon runner ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/athletics/2001368191/daniel-wanjiru-im-already-seen-as-a-sinner-of-doping">Daniel Wanjiru’s appeal Wanjiru, who denied any wrongdoing, had been provisionally suspended since 14 April 2020 after he was found guilty of the offense.
“The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed Kenyan marathon runner Daniel Wanjiru’s appeal & upheld the Disciplinary Tribunals decision to ban him for 4 years for an Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) violation,” said the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
Wanjiru won the Amsterdam Marathon in 2016 and also finished 8th and 11th at the London Marathon in 2018 and 2019.
Others to be banned included Peter Kwemoi, Vincent Yator, Mikel Mutai, Mercy Kibarus, Japhet Kipkorir, Alex Korio, Kenneth Kipkemoi, Philip Kangogo and Patrick Siele.Kenya Chipu win Barthes Trophy to qualify for World Rugby U20 Trophy
