Cristiano Ronaldo has splashed the cash on a £1.7million Bugatti Veyron in the aftermath of Portugal's Euro 2016 win.

The Real Madrid star, who lifted the trophy in Paris last weekend despite missing the majority of the final through injury, documented the car's arrival on his Instagram account.

Alongside a picture of the car, he wrote: "The animal arrive."

The car has been delivered to his home in Madrid, while Ronaldo remains on holiday in Ibiza, but the 31-year-old had a message for the luxurious motor as he wrote: "Soon your honor [will] arrive."

Real Madrid star Ronaldo was snapped relaxing on a luxurious £40,000-a-week yacht in the Meditteranean earlier this week.

He's awaiting the verdict on the knee injury which forced him out of the European Championship final in tears.

An eighth-minute challenge by Dimitri Payet floored the former Manchester United man, and despite trying to play on he was stretchered down the tunnel after 25 minutes.

However, he returned to the touchline to will his teammates to victory in extra-time, as Eder's long-range effort sealed victory for the underdogs against tournament hosts France.
