All rivers flow downstream, but in the heart of the Aberdares, one of the country’s critical water towers, there is a river that appears to defy logic… while all the other rivers in the area are going one way, this river flows in the other direction. For this reason, early inhabitants of the forest named it Karimu, which means the foolish one. KTN’s Christine Ndiritu visited the Aberdares to find out if, indeed, the river is foolish as its name suggests.
