Manchester United's home kit for the 2019/20 season appears to have been leaked.

A number of Premier League clubs are likely to wear their new strips before the current season comes to an end.

It remains to be seen if United are among them but a number of possible strips have been leaked on social media in recent weeks.

There have been suggestions their latest offering from Adidas will pay homage to the club's Treble winners in 1999.

The release date has not yet been confirmed but sports retailer Sports Direct accidentally put the kit up for sale on their website, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The kit, which was briefly advertised before being deleted, is the same as the https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images that have been doing the rounds in recent weeks.

The United badge is set to be housed in a crest of a similar shape to the one featured on United's 1998-2000 European shirt.

The shirt also appears to feature the dates of each of United's three trophy wins from the 1998/99 season.

United fans also appear to have got their wish with the shorts reverting back to white from black for the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has refused to rule out a sensational return to Old Trafford in a sporting director role.

The former centre-back was seen speaking to former United team-mate and current Ajax chief executive Edwin Van Der Sar - another man linked to the Old Trafford post - on Tuesday and was asked on BT Sport if he was getting tips following Tuesday's reports.

"He's a lovely fella (Van Der Sar). He's doing a fantastic job there. He was just telling me the ins and outs of what he actually gets up to there," he said.
