Katie Price is desperately trying to stave off bankruptcy after reportedly losing her £45million fortune - and now it looks like her ex Dwight York is in financial trouble too.

The ex-Manchester United player is facing bankruptcy just two weeks after his ex Katie's money troubles were revealed.

The retired footballer, 46, will be the subject of an insolvency hearing in London today, according to the Sun.

Katie's been given until October to pay back thousands of pounds of debt to her creditor - and if she fails to do so, she could risk being made bankrupt by the High Court.

The footballer’s hearing was due to take place this morning at the Rolls Building court complex, which handles voluntary bankruptcy applications and creditors’ demands.

But has now been adjourned until October 15.

"Katie and Dwight may be more similar than they think they are, what with them both blowing their fortunes," a source said.

"Dwight’s been desperately trying to get his finances back on track over the past year as his company’s assets dwindled to just £2.

"He even sold the Cheshire mansion he used to share with Katie. He got £2.25million last year but that clearly hasn’t helped.

"When you think of how successful Dwight was as a player, it is really quite difficult to believe it has come to this."

He has faced money trouble before - last year a petition against him was dropped after the amount he owed fell below £5,000.

Dwight and Katie dated in 2000-2001 and share a son Harvey together.

Dwight and Katie met in 2000 and were together for 18 months.

She fell pregnant with Dwight's baby and gave birth to their son Harvey Price, 16, in 2002.

Back in 2016, Katie hit out at her ex for being "unable or unwilling" to accept the boy's disability.

Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome which causes him to experience a chronic feeling of hunger.

As a result, he is prone to obesity and has been overweight from a young age.

Mum-of-five Katie claims the last time Yorke saw Harvey, he questioned why she was "overfeeding him" and she was forced to explain the boy's condition "many times".

In her latest book, serialised in The Sun, she said: "It’s sad that [Dwight] is unable to accept Harvey for who he is and seems unable or unwilling to work within his limitations.

"I think Dwight wanted to blame someone for the fact that his son is disabled.

"I have always said that if Dwight could see what a courageous and talented boy Harvey is then he would enjoy being with him so much."

Mirror Online has contacted Dwight's representative for comment.
