President William Ruto is set to leave the country on Saturday evening for China, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has said.

Ruto will be in China for three days in a visit that Mohamed says will underscore robust bilateral relations between the two countries and highlight Kenya's participation in the third Belt Road Initiative (BRI).

The forum brings together world leaders in China's capital where talks on cooperation and partnership are expected to take place with an emphasis on infrastructure development and enhanced connectivity across the world.

The President is expected to address the forum with his address dubbed "Digital Economy as a new Source of Growth".

His address will highlight Kenya's advancements in Information and Communication Technology and innovation.

He is expected to meet Xi Jinping and other world leaders to discuss matters of mutual benefit and cooperation.

Ruto will also participate in a Kenya-China investors roundtable to emphasize Kenya's standing as an investment hub for Chinese companies with an aim to forge partnerships with the two nations.
