Covid-19 positivity rate at 0.8 per cent after 47 test positive

Some forty-seven people have tested positive for the coronavirus today, from 5,928 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The Health Ministry now says the country’s positivity rate is at 0.8 per cent, with 322,869 confirmed cases and 3,357,710 cumulative tests conducted since the onset of the disease.

An additional thirty-two patients have recovered, “with twenty-six discharged from various health facilities across the country and six from the Home Based Isolation and Care Program,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement Friday.

Total recoveries are now 303,198.

No death has been reported in the latest statistics. The Covid-19 death toll remains 5,638.

Further, the Ministry said some sixty-nine patients are currently admitted in various health facilities. Four patients are in the ICU and thirteen are on supplemental oxygen.

The country has in the last 24 hours administered 53,404 Covid-19 vaccines, and over 16 million vaccines across the country.

Only 27.5 per cent of the adult population is fully inoculated.
