Avery East Africa Ltd (AEA), a subsidiary of Trans Century group is set to roll out a weighing software - the Weigh Capture System manufactured by Avery Weigh Tronnix from the UK.
AEA Industrial and Projects Manager Michael Mwanzia said the gadget will be a game changer in the weighing of products and for trucks in the manufacturing industry.
The Weigh Capture System is a management software that captures the exact weight of any cargo - whether in a manufacturing company or weighbridge station. "It automatically captures exact weight, records, processes the information and finally prints it at record time," he said
Mwanzia said the new software has simplified the weighing process - taking less than a minute. This, he said will ensure that any product or item loaded on trucks is weighed in the shortest time possible, increasing efficiency.
The system is currently being used by a local manufacturing company in Kericho, with KTDA expected to integrate the system in the third quarter of the year.

Elsewhere, the AEA Managing Director Nicholus Githinji said innovations in key products has played a major role in their growth with the firm now focused on diversification and regional markets. "We have integrated weighbridges and integrated software that can be used by anyone at any given place", he said.
Githinji said the recent surge of the dollar to an all time high of 100 to the shilling had impacted negatively on importers.
