Tea transport is timely and can only get better
The management of Mogogosiek Tea Factory Company has noted the concerns raised by a farmer, Mr Michael Chepkwony, in an article published in PointBlank (Don’t You Forget: Tea farmer wants taste of smooth transport process, March 3).
We would like to assure Mr Chepkwony that we have been able to collect all our green leaf from the field in a timely fashion. However, like any other business, we have experienced occasional delays, especially during heavy rains, which render some of the buying centres inaccessible.
In such cases, communication has been sent to all buying centres advising farmers on the appropriate course of action.
Further, with the commissioning of the new Kobel Tea Factory, which is supposed to relieve Mogogosiek, we would like to assure our farmers that the efficiency of leaf collection will significantly improve.
