Jambojet eyes Wajir, Isiolo route to grow business

Jambojet, a low-budget airline wholly owned by Kenya Airways, is moving ahead with plans to start flying to Wajir in Northern Kenya and later Isiolo.

Speaking at Fort Jesus Museum in Mombasa, Jambojet CEO Willem Hondius said they were finalising paper work before launching flights to Wajir.

“We shall be deploying Q-400 Bombadier type of aircraft for the Wajir route. We are also looking at Isiolo as we hope to grow our domestic network,” he said.

He said in the last two years that the airline has been in operation, they have achieved notable business growth. Jambojet, which flies from Nairobi to Diani, in Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Lamu and Malindi set a regional record in 2016 by handling over one million passengers in less than two years of its existence.
