The Ministry of Mining won the Best Stand in Research Development at this year’s Mombasa International Show. The ministry, which is exhibiting at the fair for the first time since its formation beat a strong field of research based government agencies and educational institutions to emerge the winner.
Mining Cabinet Secretary Mr Najib Balala lauded ministry staff for putting up splendid show and said the performance was in tandem with what his ministry is keen to adopt.
"We are guided by our Strategic Plan which we launched for the period of 2013-2017 that lays a framework upon which the ministry will achieve its objectives for the next five years," Balala said.
On display at the ministry stand are mineral samples, finished products, Community Based Organisations (CBOs) involved in mining as well as latest technology used in mining and exploration.
