Nikon, a Japanese firm that specialises in optics and imaging products, has opened its latest showroom facility as part of its strategy to tap into growing film industry in Kenya.
Nikon Middle East Africa and North Africa Managing Director Takashi Yoshida said Kenya has immense talent compared to other film-making industries such as Nollywood and Hollywood but lacks exposure, guidance, training as well as access to the right equipment to compete equally in the market.
While opening a Sh20 million showroom facility at the Thika Road Mall (TRM), Yashida said Africa is an emerging market with a lot of opportunities for growth and Kenya’s impressive economic growth lays an excellent launch pad for Nikon to venture into the market.
