NAIROBI; KENYA: Kenya Commercial Bank has entered a deal with MultiChoice enabling customers acquire decoders and pay TV subscription at discounted rates.

KCB targets to increase usage of its debit and credit cards while MultiChoice will be riding on the bank’s payment platform to push its products.

“This offer allows customers to purchase DStv decoders and subscription at a discounted rate as well a repayment period ranging between 12 to 24 months,” said Angela Mwirigi, KCB Director, Marketing and Communications.

The promotion is open to all KCB credit and debit customers who are required to fill and drop their direct debit instructions forms at any KCB or MultiChoice outlet countrywide. Product delivery and installation will happen within five days of the application. “We intend to increase card usage at point of sale. Currently about 1,500 customers pay for their DStv services via KCB cards and this promotion is aimed at increasing this to at least 3,000 over the promotion period,” said Mwirigi.

Customers who sign up for the MultiChoice services and products during the promotional campaign period will get gifts at 30 selected KCB branches as the festive season approaches. “We are at the forefront of exploring ways to bring subscribers the best deals and home television viewing experience. This is why we have partnered with KCB to ensure customers access their convenient payment platforms,” said Danny Mucira, MultiChoice Kenya General Manager.

A customer who signs up for the single view decoder can make repayments for upto 12 months while that person signing for the HD decorder can repay within 24 months.
